The husband’s BFF and fiance is in town from Taiping this New Year for a few days. When asked where they’d like to meet up, Dr Khor was quick to suggest most KL-lites’ favourite kopitiam, Yut Kee Restaurant at Jalan Dang Wangi.

Reason being: He was attracted to their 81 year old nostalgic interior — floor tiles, marble tables and wooden chairs — and not for the food. He found it through Google by looking for Coffee Shops in KL and the kopitiam’s name topped the list.

I, on the other hand, had been patronising this Kopitiam since I was a small girl as my Mom used to work nearby. Each time — past 2 decades! — I never failed to order my favourite Hainanese Chicken Chop and Kopi-O Ice.

So everything else on this menu below, I’ve yet to try even 3 of them — unless you order, and I steal a bite

Although we left the shop RM51 Poorer this morning, we were definitely Gastronomically Richer! And here are the happy faces to prove it
