the melodramatic mouse is now mellomom
An early thanksgiving with a twist, dedicated to myself next April 2010
Read on and you’ll know why![]()
I first heard of this series from my sister when she was home from Canada on summer break back in 1997. So I reckoned it must have been at least late 1998 when NTV7 aired it locally, since the channel were only launched in April that year.
I was a fan. Were you?
The original Ally McBeal cast from Season 1

L-R: Georgia, Billy, Elaine, John | Seated: Richard, Ally Mcbeal, Renée
It was an immediate hit for me. Reason being — ironic or not — I could relate to her crazy hallucinations, hapless love life, emotional conscience and most of all, her unrelenting love for Billy. The “backside sniffing” Love At First Sight slash First Love *LOL*
In Season 3 Episode 18, Ally turned 30. And this was aired back in May 2000 on FOX, possibly 2001 on NTV7. There I was — at an age of finding myself — definite and worried that I would turned out to be just like her when I hit the big Three-O. I didn’t mind the bank account, but to be loveless and with an imaginary dancing baby? *faints*
I’m gloating actually *showoff* *LOL* Although minus the financially independent part, I have a doting husband and expecting *thankful*
In short, my worries can now be behind me. The insane premonition of myself did not come true. I related to Ally McBeal but didn’t become her. And her imaginary dancing baby would be a real infant in my arms next March. Then in a month, I will happily cross over from the 20s, to the 30s. What she did not accomplished, I will be!
Things to achieve before 30: 1) Marry my Soulmate — Checked! 2) Become a Mother — I’m half way there! *smug*
Have you found yours? I did
I’ve Been Searching My Soul by Vonda Shepherd
I’ve been down this road
Walking the line
that’s painted by pride
And I have made mistakes in my life
that I just can’t hide.
But I believe I’m ready
for what love has to bring
I’ve got myself together
Now I’m ready to sing.
I’ve been searching my soul tonight
I know there’s so much more to life
Now I know I can shine a light
to find my way back home.
Baby.
Yeah.
Oh Yeah.
