Happy 4 Months, Natey! According to “What To Expect”, you’re now in your golden age of babyhood :D

Golden age? Why does it sound OLD to me. Reminds me of the show Golden Girls :P

happy 4th month to you, ben and the lil’ one. yay!!! it’s a celebration for all, right? natey still fit into his newborn clothes? i’m trying to gauge if i’m stocking up enough nb sizes.

It’s a bit tricky with the NB shirts. You need to have extras just in case he vomits or his poo leaks. I bought 4 initially. Then got 5 more.

Whether they will fit or not depends how chubby your kiddo grows. If he’s a good sucker and expands. Or like Natey, a slow drinker so he’s just average size. His weigh today is 6.6kg. My friend’s baby is 7.4kg! 1 week apart.

Don’t get too many, else you’ll waste.

we’ve got more than enough sleepwear, i think. we try to get the 3-6 months ones for just in case. with so many blogshops around, baby clothing is the least of the worry.

do you know anyone who has used an inflatable bath tub? only place i can find it is in toys ‘r’ us. bounced off that idea of using an inflatable tub with my friend’s mom who is a senior nurse at the hospital i go to. friend’s baby/ that lady’s grandson, who’s natey’s age, uses a basin. she said to get a small enough one so the baby doesn’t slip.
one of the reasons we thought of using the inflatable tub is because our bathrooms aren’t all that spacious.
friend’s mom also said that when she takes care of the grandson, he sleeps through the night, with no feeding. i was like, wahh… can or not? but she’s a nurse, a mother of two… she must know what she’s doing, right?!

We actually bought an inflatable bath tub during our honeymoon in HK :P Only got to use it once cause Ben tore it! After fixing it, went straight back into the box.

Mind you, it’s harder to keep clean and dry because of the balloony edges. A basin still the best. Can wash clothes lo later ;)

Btw, we actually have a small one for the soapy bubble bath. Then a big one like Ikea’s for the rinsing part. Can see in my FB album.

where did you get the inflatable tub from… and is it the jap made richell?

makes sense about it not being able to dry up fast. yeah, think i’ll get the basin like the blue one you have. dichu get a stand for it in the end?

Yup we got this from HK and you can find it in ToyRus. They have a loop to hang at the back, that’s the part where it tore. So don’t hang it! :P

Didn’t bother with the stand. Too flimsy. How long can the stand last? Imagine baby boys grow bigger than girls, their weight and the weight of the water. And it is above ground. Too scary!! Natey likes to kick in the tub too…

baby boys do grow faster than baby girls in most cases. my 1 year old nephew’s a little on the lengthy side. my 2 other nieces who are older, gosh… they were huge and heavy! but yeah, boys are generally bigger than girls.

that’s the one i was talking about. i didn’t imagine hanging it though it’s a good reminder. thanks for mentioning it.

although you’re suppose to hold the nb in the tub anyway, but was natey comfortable in the inflatable tub?
i might just opt for a basin and bathe the nb in the sink. going western on this method. most ang mohs bathe the babies in the kitchen sink.. without tub though. hehe.

Your boy will grow up very fast and the stand will look too unsafe. That’s my personal feeling but that depends on individual baby ;)

I think Natey didn’t get to use the Richell tub. I was in confinement so the bathing was done by MIL. If not mistaken, Ben got the pink tub cause the Richell was torn.

Btw, the air comes out quite fast. So be prepared to blow your heart out :P

we’re gonna go ahead with using 2 tubs. 1 as suggested by my friend’s mom, the nurse (old skool wash basin/ basuh kain type)… and also as you’ve suggested. 1 soaping, 1 rinsing. i suppose it’ll be a trial and error thing for us when the time comes.

former colleague just showed me a vid clip of his son when he was about 4 months old. man…. he was hyperactive! all that jumping up and down and strong kicks *gulp*

gah!
