17 Nov 2009Last Friday I thought we struck Gold when we bought the Medela Harmony at Fabulous Mom’s Relocation Sale. They made an error of the sale price on their website — instead of RM228.65, it was going for RM211.65. So we saved an extra RM17 and that was indeed a steal deal! *squeal*
Unfortunately, it was no longer so after I received an sms from the husband at work yesterday morning asking me to check out Amazon to see if there’s anything to buy because his aunt from UK would be visiting in January *breathe**super long sentence*
That was when I found out that our gold was not Gold after all. Even after I multiplied it 6x! And delivery service is free for online purchases to anywhere within UK *faints*
Medela Harmony with 2-Phase Expression
Local Retail: RM269 | Amazon: £23.50 (RM141)
We could have saved: RM128!!!

If only last week was this week *sigh* You will understand my heartache if you were in our situation. Saving every possible Ringgit and Sen is an absolute necessity. Because what you frugally saved from this purchase, will be gone in a second for the next baby item *sigh more*
Thankfully we have yet to buy the milk bottles. My jaw literally dropped to the floor when I saw the marked up price! Thank you to Aunty Alice in advance *bow in appreciation*
I’m getting the husband to complete the online transaction this weekend! Here’s what I’m planning to get:

Well, though the bottle is cheaper in UK, you can just use the bumblebee bottle which is even cheaper and easily available locally
If you plan to bottlefeed your baby with medela bottle then do consider if you can have continuous “supply” of the bottle from UK as getting the bottle in MY is expensive. Medela bottle is made of PP and thus it’s recommended to change the bottle every 6 mth or when there’s sign of wear and tear on it.

Oh I didn’t know there are lifespan for the bottle *blush* I’m just taking advantage now to get the Medela because the husband’s aunt is coming back to KL and later my SIL would also be. Looks like I need to research on milk bottles as well then. Thank you for the awareness!
