My Verdict:

This is what I’ve been missing sleep over the past week. It didn’t really start off with a full star verdict, but as I continued with the episodes to seasons, I got addicted.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl — definitely a mouth full title — is a British tv drama started back in 2007, based on the book below. There are 4 seasons in total, and in each there are only 8 episodes 22min each. So it’s no surprise that I finished all within a week

I wouldn’t say that this is similar to Sex in the City — critics had compared them — but definitely just as risque! As the seasons changed, the directors were also changed. Hence I reckon the improvement. I enjoyed the last season’s best!

Watching this has definitely picked my interest to read the original book. I wonder if I could get this in our bookstore since it being the true story of a whore — Belle calls herself that many many times in the drama, and prostitute.

There has been talks about a movie, so I can’t wait. And of course it WILL NOT be available in our cinemas. If it did, I wonder what would be left after the censorship board had butchered it *bah*

Since my pregnancy days and thereafter, my once problem free face seemed like a lifetime ago. I’m now spotted and unofficially branded melloPanda. Basically, I cannot be seen without make-up on. Or you risk being killed *bah*

After much deliberation of a desperately needed professional intervention, I went for my first facial at Serene Aesthetics last Thursday morning.

As that was my first visit to Serene, I was entitled to their First Trial of an Intensive Brightening Treatment at RM88, worth RM238. And of course, they also talked me into topping up another RM40 for a neck and eye treatment too.

During the facial skin analysis, I was surprised that my skin result showed “good” condition albeit the problems it is giving me. However, it would be recommended to invest in a monthly “pamper” for upkeeping. In a nutshell, I need to go for facial from now on. Isn’t everyone? I must be the last person among my friends to do so *boo*

The product that Serene uses is by Soskin. I did a quick Google on them before my appointment and found the ingredients that they use acceptable. Thankfully since my facial on Thursday till now (touch wood) no allergy has been spotted. Except I suspect the moisturizer is a bit too oily for me as small pimples sprouted around my cheeks.

They gave me this mini trial set to continue with their product until my next appointment. Looks like my first trial has turned me into a regular.

Anyway I’ve been procrastinating on a new skincare since my Eumora and Skinz Infinite scare. Hopefully Soskin would be the end of my facial experimenting *fingers crossed*

The Carrie Diaries, Before Sex and The City.

My Sister got this for me last Christmas. If you asked me then, I would tell you that it is just another book. But ask me now and I would say that it is “the” must read prequel. What changed my mind?

I was never a fan of Sex and The City. Simply because before this, I never got around to follow the series to really understand what the show was all about besides its obvious dramedy. After watching its sequel earlier this year, the curiousity finally hit home — I wanted to know how Carrie met Big — and I downloaded all 6 seasons.

Within 3 months, I watched all the episodes — including the 3 Alternate Endings, 2 Farewells and Seminar — and I’m glad that I was never a fan earlier. It was definitely more fun watching one episode after another and becoming an overnight fan instantaneously. I have to admit that I am ~~heartbroken~~ sad that it is all over now that I am a fan *boo*

I did watch a few episodes when SATC debuted in 1998. Back then Mega Tv — Malaysia’s first pay tv — had HBO and oddly somehow escaped censorship. How else could a tv series with the word Sex in its title (and countless nude scenes) made its way into our home? How did they show SATC without butchering it silly? Especially the conversations. Do you remember?

I stopped reading at Chapter 7 when I started marathon-ing on the series. Now would be the perfect time to pick it up again and find out how Carrie became Carrie, The New Yorker

My Verdict:
Total Episodes: 16

Loved the show! Even the busy husband took time out to watch it with me, so that makes this a full stars rating — better than Mischievous Kiss *keke*

The overall storyline is good, and the actors are brilliant. I’m giving a big applaud to Ryu Seung Ryong that played the part of Director Choi Do Bin. His facial expressions are superb. If you wonder why, then you must watch it yourself

I’m familiar with Lee Min Ho in Boys Before Flower and I didn’t quite like him as Goo Jun Pyo, but he definitely scored good points from me as Jeon Jin Ho. Although I’m not a fan yet, I don’t mind looking up his previous acts in other Kdramas now.

Son Ye Jin (Park Kae In) is also now in my list of pretty faces — even the husband says so — that I’ll want to see more

I’m highly recommending this to you. So watch it ok!

I spotted this on Viikii earlier while looking for a new Kdrama to follow. The poster caught my attention even though I’m not a Lee Min Ho fan. But if you are, then you’ve probably watched this.

Personal Taste was adapted from a 2007 novel “Gaeinui Chwihyang” by Korean American, Lee Sae In. The 16 episodes romantic comedy drama was aired on MBC earlier this March, so this means I won’t need to chase it for 2 months

Episodes 1 to 4 are now loading — btw it’s 1.21am and I should be sleeping — hopefully I’ll get to steal an hour tonight after Natey goes to bed. Can’t wait!

Synopsis
Jeon Jin Ho (Lee Min Ho) is a straight guy who pretends to be gay in order to become a roommate to his female friend, Park Kae In (Son Ye Jin). His hobbies include organization and ironing, and he’s known for his stoic poker face. He’s a stickler for cleanliness, but he also has a talent for figuring out women’s feelings.

Kae In is very trusting even though she has a habit of being betrayed. However that doesn’t stop her from giving people the benefit of doubt and Jin Ho is no different.

How will Kae In react when she finds out that her gay roommate is not actually gay at all and that he has fallen for her?

Last night was the finale. I got to watch it earlier this afternoon, and I am happy with its ending. The girl got her 1st love and married him. What’s not to like about that? An every girl’s dream come true — speaking for myself — especially when he looks like this *drools*

I’m going to miss my Thursdays and Fridays swooning over Baek Seung Jo. I actually won’t mind watching it all over again just to see his handsome face. Surely even a Mommy can indulge in a little eye candy

I must say that I am really impressed with Viikii for their super efficient uploads. The show runs on MBC at 9.55pm (Wed & Thurs) and I can already watch it by noon the next day with 100% English subtitles, and many other languages too. A big round of applauds to the translators! *muaks*

I’m giving this a 5 star. If you haven’t watched Playful Kiss yet, and were a fan of Boys Before Flower last year, then you simply must not miss this.

After my Eumora scare last year, you’d think that I’ve learn my lesson and trust my body’s warning. The alleged Miracle Bar gave me twice facial rash that needed medical intervention. Why twice? I was silly to give it a 2nd chance *bah*

This time around I’m once again silly. Sillier because now is Three! The experience is much more scarier as well because I could loose my sight. OK maybe that’s a little exaggerated, but it certainly didn’t feel that way when I couldn’t keep my eyes opened *boo*

Renew and Rejuvenates
Unfortunately, it was the other way around

Some of you might recall me tweeting/FBing about a 3x eye infection I had. Well there it is above. That’s what caused it and the medications that I had to apply. Not forgetting the antibiotic I had to take while breastfeeding *sigh*

On 3 separate accounts — starting from April 26 — a small white bean grew in my outer and inner lower eyelid on both eyes. It was inflamed, itchy and felt like I got punched in the eye. I went to see the Doctor twice and the 1st one told me that I might need surgery. If that didn’t scare the sh*t of me, nothing would *shudder*

I’ve learnt my lesson. I promise! No more experimenting with over the counter skincare. No more 2nd chances or incredibly stupid 3rd time’s the charm. And of course, I should listen to the beloved husband *yaya*

So what should I use now? My dark circles and freckles can be seen from a mile away *pouts*

What would Charmaine Sheh says about this? *ha*

I’ve not heard this kiddy tune since I was a kiddy myself. Yet it has stayed with me all these time! When Stephen sang it to Ewan yesterday during the playdate, immediately it struck a chord in me.

It is simply addictive. The song is now stuck in my head and I can’t stop singing it. That includes the hand actions as well. I can see myself in pigtail and dark blue pinafore days singing this in the car to school

Thanks Stephen, for reminding me of my almost forgotten childhood now that I’m a Mommy. I’m definitely going to infect Natey with his song too. The husband is already going nuts ~~to the point of murder~~ with his mousey wifey singing this day in, day out.

This is just the beginning. Wait till Natey learns it himself and wants to hear it every day *keke*

Here’s something else to look forward to next month. Another Japanese shōjo manga turned TV drama and starred by my favourite flower boy, Kim Hyun Joong! *besotted*

The Korean adaptation of the manga (Itazura na Kiss/Playful Kiss) is called It Started with a Kiss, or aka Mischievous Kiss.

Synopsis
Based on the popular manga, Oh Ha Ni is a clumsy student who falls for the perfectionist, Baek Seung Jo. However, Seung Jo is indifferent towards her and rejects her love.

When Ha Ni’s house collapses, she and her father moves into his long-time friend’s house. It turns out that Seung Jo is the friend’s son and Ha Ni is given the opportunity to be near the guy she loves.

Will she be able to move Seung Jo’s heart?

The 2 main leads will be starred by Jeong So Min as Ha Ni and Kim Hyun Joong as Seung Jo. I wonder if the storyline would be an exact replica. Total episodes are 16, but the Japanese version only had 9. It’ll be airing on MBC this 1 September 2010 at 11pm. I can’t wait!

I’m counting on KHJ fans to upload the episodes with English subtitles on YouTube. No Mandarin dubbed show for me please! *ugh*

This 16 episode Taiwanese Drama (2007) began last Wednesday on 8TV. It airs from Monday to Friday from 1-2pm. That’s the perfect timing while I am having lunch, and you too can watch it while you’re on lunch break *shhh*

I only started watching on Monday, and immediately took a liking to the romantic comedy. I missed the 1st 2 episodes last week because we were out, so now I am catching up what I’ve missed on YouTube. You’ll need to watch Episode 1 here because the one on MySoju is broken.

The storyline is quite cliché as we could probably guess the ending without watching, but the drama is actually quite cute to miss. Especially if you’re a sucker for love stories like me *bleh*

I wonder if I’ll have the patience to watch it everyday on 8TV or just marathon it in a few days online. Either way, I will surely finish it! Hope you’ll join me too
