change, we can believe.

besides the hype that was flooding our nation before mar8, on the other side of the world, six persons compete the votes of their nation to be the next president of the united states. just like everyone in that nation (and around the world), i too have been bitten by their presidential bug *ouch*

since watching the video by will.i.am – YES, WE CAN – i’ve been diligently reading barack’s speeches whenever i can at work, and watching youtube about his campaign at home. his call for hope and change is without a doubt inspiring. all the way back to this end of the world, barack hussein obama has also won my vote – yes, he can!

in my own innocent (naive?) way, i choose to believe his words and his possibility of change. when november comes, we will know what america decides. i agree that a decade and half of bushes and clinton is enough. so until then, i wish senator obama all the very best! :)

here are some of my favourite excerpts from his speeches. the beautiful thing about the issues that he addresses is, that they apply to each and everyone of us who hopes for a better tomorrow *cheers* more to come as i go along~

We will have to learn more, and study more, and work harder. We’ll be called upon to take part in shared sacrifice and shared prosperity. And we’ll have to remind ourselves that we rise and fall as one nation.

We need to do more than end a war – we need to end the mindset that got us into war.

It’s time to stand up and reach for what’s possible, because together, people who love their country can change it.

No dream is beyond our grasp if we reach for it, and fight for it, and work for it.

We need to stop talking about how great our teachers are; we need to reward them for their greatness with more pay and more support.

That each of us can make a difference and all of us ought to try. That no frontier is beyond our reach when we’re united, and not divided.

Yes we can to justice and equality. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair this world. Yes we can.

here’s another 2 thumbs up to will.i.am for his latest video on obama – WE ARE THE ONES – enjoy! :)
