the melodramatic mouse is now mellomom
Have you ever noticed that at certain points of your life, you want something very different from yesterday? The colourful spiral lollipop no longer seemed as hypnotising as it was the day before. And the thoughts of holding that “one” hand for better or worst, is better than any castles in the air.
For the past two days, my mother has tagged along with me to Petaling Street to run an errand for the husband. He’s doing t-shirt printing for SFX’s Post Confirmation Ministry, and as the dotting wife, I have the dutiful task of getting his design exposed on silkscreen at Venus Art. On the side track, going down Chinatown means good ole authentic Chinese food – the same hawkers from my mother’s childhood – and visits to the pet shops!
We had our fair shares of eating there and takeaways of curry laksa, beef and pork noodle, chee cheong fun, Chinese pastries, duck feet wrapped with “spare parts” – yup no kidding! – and air mata kucing. As we were making our way back to the train station on Monday, I did my usual window-pet-shopping and this particular pup stole my heart.

I’ve never been much of a fan for long furry dogs – JRT is still my first love – but there’s something about his snowy white fur and pleading eyes that moved me, begging me to take him home. I would have *very wishful thinking* if not for the momentarily heart attack that shook me back to reality – a four-digit numeral that outlined my brief cardio arrest that counts RM2,340.
Wilfully, I tapped the glass, almost touching the little fella’s nose, and I said goodbye. Yesterday, I dare not visit him again. Else this photo, would be my very own *pouts*
So, this is my current phase in life now – or has it been all along anyway? – I want a faithful best friend, conveniently, she shall be on all fours
