Pregnancy Updates 05: Drown in my own Spit.

Looks like another whiny post…

Please excuse my rather disgusting title. But that is exactly how I feel since 2 days back. I’m running to the toilet sink every 1-2 minute to spit *yucks*

Did you know? But you might

Some women feel as though they’re salivating more than usual during pregnancy, especially when they’re nauseated.

Excessive salivation is called ptyalism or sialorrhea and is more common among women suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

Increased salivation can also be related to heartburn, which is common during pregnancy.

I wish I could swallow all of my saliva, but my glands are producing them at an alarming speed — even during sleep! *chokes* And gulping them down makes me throw up, which I am trying to avoid at all cause. I hate vomiting :(

Nausea, heartburn, extremely frequent nature calls and now salivating. Although they’re just Four, in reality there is actually a hidden dropdown list of discomforts for each symptoms.

Here are some of my Nausea Culprits that are making life rosy every day:

  • Detergents — the husband is doing all dishes, washing and cleaning
  • Shampoo and soap — unbearably using a pinch each time
  • Perfumes — if you’re wearing, please beware
  • Meat — Benjac Jr might be a vegan?
  • Food in general — if only I don’t have to eat at all
  • Air — breathing is almost as lethal as not because of the unknown smell it carries
  • Scubby too…

Because of my crazy nausea, I’ve intentionally imprisoned myself and haven’t left the house for 1.5 weeks. It’s absolutely more comforting than freedom.

Everyday I wake up hoping that all these will come to pass. When does the pregnancy bliss begin to kick in? *drums fingers impatiently*

I still can’t step into my kitchen till today. Everything you mentioned there, it’s exactly the same with me too. And I’m in my 5th month! Being pregnant is not easy :P
