next week is a month from the date below. why has it taken that long? *deep breath* i’m thinking long and hard, where do i begin?

hong kong was fun. we got to experience a little bit of typhoon while we were there. walking in disposable raincoats – me in pink and ben in yellow – looking for food and having the foot of our jeans drenched, only to find out that we paid way too much for a plate of pork chop rice. and it’s not even nice! never ever trust books that recommend you places to eat!! ok so we are inexperienced tourists *bleh*

ben got his air jordan *slam dunks with joy* and i got my cotton candy crocs. i can’t believe i’m admitting this, but they are superb! i wear it to work everyday and amazingly, my poor ankle had not ached for weeks. i didn’t get the ugly classic ones, but a new design called malindi. i really want a black pair for work, but it’s so hard to find it here – no size, no colour, no stock. if i knew, i would have gotten all the colours! hehe… anyone going to the states? *bat eyelashes*

so, hong kong was fun. until the night before we came back. dad was not well. he came to kl and was going to go to perth with mom for a holiday. we earnestly thought it was a good idea *sobs* perhaps a blessing in disguise, but who really knows what God’s plans are. my father-in-law – christoper tan yong teng – rested in Christ on 27 april 2008 at 7.20am in the CCU of SJMC. on that same day, we brought him home to taiping. the rain poured heavily as though heaven was mourning with us. but as soon as he was in the house, the sun shone brightly – and to this i say: heaven has opened up to receive dad home. i firmly believe he is, and now glorified with Christ :)

i loved this shot of dad from my wedding day because of its serenity, and the humble image of dad’s walk towards Christ. now i know why i will always love this photo. in loving memories.

i still wonder if it was dad’s time. did he know? was he even ready? i guess we will never know. are you ready? am i?…
