Postnatal 07: Nursing Bra, pt 2.

True to its namesake
I am being Carri(ed)well since Friday :)

Carriwell Seamless Drop Cup Nursing Bra

My Verdict: 5 star
2 words — God Sent! *breath with utter relief*

Since wearing my new Carriwell bra last Thursday night, I did not have to deal with the painful ordeal of engorgement caused by blocked ducts. I still experience pain from the fullness, but certainly not as agonising as before.

What I love about Carriwell is that the side panels can expand 2 cup sizes when the breast are full. This is definitely an intelligent and thoughtful invention!

I suspect that I am experiencing engorgement because my FM nursing bras become too tight when my breast are full. Hence plugging the ducts along the way and turning my breastfeeding joy into a nightmare.

I bought 2 pairs to try — a black (I was wearing when photo was taken) and a white — each for RM89.90 and I am now tempted to get a third. Shall wait for Mega Sale soon :)

If this design looks too boring for you, try the lace range going for RM129.90.

I would definitely recommend this bra to any expecting and nursing Mommies. The super comfortable material is simply to die for. No regrets!

I really heart this bra. My life saver! The husband bought me another pair yesterday ♥

I recommend getting the white ones, as I find the black have lint problem ;)

Added 27/11/11, 8.30pm:
After a year plus of wear and tear, I finally bought another 4 pairs today at the GBS Warehouse Sale. I vouched that Carriwell is still the best nursing bra in town.

These bras are now going at RM119.90 retail price. I got them 30% at the warehouse. These are my best Xmas gift :)

Hello MOMMY! May I ask where did you get the bra? I bought some nursing bra from women’s secret and it is too tight (around) the ribcage area…. :P

I got them from the shop 9 months at Pavilion. Modernmum also carries this brand. I saw it at some other baby shops as well. Mothercare has stopped bringing it in though.

I wouldn’t trust buying bra online since you can’t try them. But maybe it’s just tight now that you are pregger. Try again after confinement :)

You’re right, FM bras are indeed tight especially a few hours after nursing when the milk comes in.

May Yee, Parkson does sell Carriwell too. Maybe I should get a pair as well….

So it’s been some 2 weeks since you’ve used these bras. Still recommending them? How’s breastfeeding lately, and how’s Nate?

Joey,

You should get a pair! I just got myself another one yesterday so now I have 3 to rotate.

Warning though — if you plan to wear it to work, make sure your top is thick and dark. Else your breast pad will peak through your top because Carriwell is thin and soft.

FM bras or any nursing bras that does not expand is not suitable to be a nursing bra. Correct? ;)

Btw I think MayYee went for delivery. She didn’t reply my sms yesterday :)

Ling,

Definitely recommending them highly. They are bras from heaven! At least for me. I got another pair yesterday :)

With this heavenly bra, breastfeeding as been a joy again. No more block ducts and engorgement is not as tormenting now because Carriwell accommodates!

Nate attended his 1st mass as a Catholic Boy yesterday at the aircon room. Tons of kids there — think it’s a parents-with-babies room LOL

Hi Sylvia

I’m so glad you found my whining post and researches helpful :)

Please bombs away if you have any doubts. Especially similar experiences that we share. I’m no expert, but at least you know you are not alone ;)

So is it blue or pink or both?

I went to Modernmum in Penang the other day, looking for Carriwell bra…oh!got a rude response from the sales girl…saying that they have they own bra & carry their own brand..sigh

It was “Like at first sight” for me after reading ur blog here about Carriwell nursing bra. R they really that good?

Do u have any idea where else i can get them in Penang?i dun wanna buy online cos cant try first.

Sylvia

Ooo a Little Tigress! Congrates to you and hubby :)

Sadly nowadays sales people are so so rude. Even to expecting mothers *fumes*

No I’m sorry. I have no idea where to get in Penang. I can assure you that you can trust the brand and get it online. But don’t buy it yet since you’re 2 months away.

If you really insist, just add 2 cup size from now. Yup, it can get that BIG!

I’ve not been separated from my Carriwell since I first wore it. I love it so so much. The material is to die for. And seriously, no more block ducts ever since :)

I have 3 pairs, 2 white 1 black. I might just get another!

I’m not very sure if all Modernmum sells it. I only know KLCC’s Modernmum carries their belly band. It would be best that you call that outlet first before going. Save you the trouble ya.

I bought my Harmony at the cheapest price because Fabulous Mom made an error in their website. So they have no choice but to honour the price keke. If you have friends coming back from UK, buy there! Super cheap. Since it is manual, there is no warranty anyway. So can just get it abroad.

I would not recommend you to get manual. If you have the budget, get electric. You will not regret it ;)
