the melodramatic mouse attempts to blog
Ever since I’ve begun to grow sideways and front *ahem* my wardrobe has also gone the other direction. Except for the house T-shirts and shorts that I wear at home, everything else has “shrunk”.
Besides battling morning sickness and lethargy, going out now presents another headache — nothing fits! What remains wearable are these 2 Harajuku babytees, and I’ve wore them for the past 3 weekends to church and everywhere else. And now they barely fit
I’m now in a lookout for a few affordable casual maternity wear. We were at Miki Mom last Sunday, a simple tee and blouse each cost minimum RM89 and RM119. Imagine buying 4 different pieces *mental calculation* That’s expensive right? Considering after 5 months, I won’t be wearing them anymore.
Where can I find something under RM50 but still looks attractive? Just because I am expanding doesn’t mean I want to dress like a sack of potatoes. The fullness of your baby bump is supposed to make you feel sexy. And I’m Not kidding! So why hide it? It’s ok to wear hubby’s tee at home, but to go out? *shakes head in horror*
Here’s something I put together at Polyvore
But I doubt any of it is under RM50, except maybe the earrings?

I’m planning to drop by Sungei Wang this Saturday and find a good bargain *cross fingers* My energy level between each nap is 3 hours. So I hope we can find something decent between then and hurry home so I can recharge.
Hopefully after this weekend, I can retire the Harajuku tees and give it a good 5 months rest. But then again, I wonder if I’ll ever be able to fit into anything I own now ever again…

I’m in my 7th month now and yes, nothing fits anymore! I can’t believe how big I’ve grown *horror*I finally got Miki Mom’s Maternity tees yesterday at Isetan with 50% and 30% off. I simply love their simple horizontal stripes tee. Yup, Horizontal! And they were in a size bigger to accommodate my growing bump until 9th month.
Do I look like a whale? I cared not because I love the pastels too much

I understand, girl… am retiring my sz24 levis since last week. I went to Singpore recently and tried to look for clothes… and I found this brand… Hypnosis (it was on sale) and Cotton On. I bought some dresses under SGD20. It is meant for normal wear… but those I got are empire waist and I got it 1 size bigger… ie S instead of XS.
I dont like the Malaysian merternity wear… all looks like nightgown… I noticed some of the ah lian bang-bang shop have the free size cotton wear. With your small frame, I think you should be able to find something.
I am more worried about my working clothes…
And my shoes! Was told that my shoe size will increase!
At home I just wear t-shirt and panties and walk around… and finally some of my clothes fits (as I usually wear xxs or xs).

Getting empire cut dresses is definitely the plan. Going to the loo would be easier as well, though I cringe at the thought of public toilets. Nature calls me at every hour! Nightmare thinking of it while I am outside
Shoe size increase because they’ll be swollen. They will be working extra hard to carry you around with the extra 10kg in front. For your working clothes, get a few plain colour shirt blouses and rotate. If you don’t mind the price, Miki Mom’s blouses are nice. Wait for the sale!

I know about Cats’ maternity line. I was a frequent shopper at the outlet in Dsara Perdana, but since moving it’s a bit out of reach for me. Especially now that I can’t stay out long. Hopefully tomorrow’s trip to Sg Wang (10mins from my place) would be fruitful!

How was the Sg Wang trip? Was it fruitful?

It was fruitful! I got a nice 3/4 white pants and a light peach coloured blouse from this shop called Mother in Waiting, on Ground Floor near Kim Gary. The girl was nice to give us a 20%. You can try check it out, a lot of nice blouses there! She said sales is on next month.

I will check out Sg wang…. thanks for the tips… if you go to Singapore… you can just get those sun dresses from bugis street (their version of our centrl market) for only SGD19 each… it is nice and can accomodate till final stages of the pregnancy without looking like wearing a nightgown.

Don’t need to go all the way there. There are plenty in Sg Wang and Petaling Street! Minus the traveling and currency exchange. Unless we’re talking about quality

Oh please congratulate her! I saw your other niece in FB, she looks so pretty. I bet Emma will be even prettier. You know what they say — the younger sibling is always the better looking *LOL*
You’re so lucky to have hand me downs. But true, we have to be vain as well. My mom and sis keep insisting that I wear those oversize tees *faints*

I bought these wonderful things called Belly Belt and Bando online from http://www.fertilemind.com.au. I noticed that they sell these things in Mothercare too. With these, you can wear your regular clothes and pants/skirts. A very good investment!!!
