27 Oct 2009Since last Friday, I’ve already given birth twice — in my dreams! And both were rather nightmarish because the 1st one, I cried myself awake and thankfully hubby hasn’t gone off to work yet so he could give me comfort hugs *shivers*
The 2nd one I had this morning was also very weird: I gave birth in front of some deserted heritage building similar to those on Petaling Streets, it was painless and quick. When I finally get to see LBJ, I was handed a passport photograph of a little girl but not a real baby…
During pregnancy it’s common to have vivid dreams, some pleasant, some strange or disturbing.
Although some may be worrisome or perplexing, researchers say that dreams actually help expectant mothers prepare for the radical shifts in life that come with their baby’s birth.
It’s very typical to dream of a deformed child, not being prepared, or giving birth to a furry animal.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a dreamless slumber in my life. And it is exhausting because I literally have no real rest even though my body is “supposedly” in a peaceful state *sigh* So as my pregnancy comes closer to an end, I know I would be bombarded by even more strange dreams
Ever since my pregnancy began in July, I’ve had at least 5 nightmare episodes where I would wake up shaken and sobbing. I remember a year back — a time before we were even ready — I was already having blissful dreams of being pregnant, being a mother, having a baby and even raising a toddler…
Where did those dreams go?
