the melodramatic mouse is now mellomom
The cat is finally out of the bag. After weeks of deliberations and even submitting a birth plan so he wouldn’t suspect, today we finally decided to inform Dr Tan about our plans. But it seems that our secret wasn’t much of a secret because he expected it *cis* Anyhow I am thankful that he is supportive. It’s a big yay to homebirthers!
Today’s ultrasound measured LBT with an estimated weight of 3.05kg at 37 weeks and 4 days. If we calculate based on my last menstrual period, it would still be at 36 weeks and 5 days. Once again this shows that the EDD is just an Estimated due date, and only our baby knows the REAL due date. So don’t let anyone bulldoze you into thinking that we are overdue then corner you into an induction or cesarean. Same goes for the baby’s weight as well.
LBT is being a super good girl by remaining head down, switching from left to right and left again. All that’s left to do now is — in Dr Tan’s exact words in Cantonese — Wait to Birth. That is my sentiment exactly. As much as I want to hurry, it’s really a love hate situation where I want to enjoy her in me longer versus I can’t wait for her to be out of me *LOL*

I’m looking forward to an Easter water dragon in our very own inflated pool. We did a trial run last Saturday and everything is all set! Hopefully she hears Mommy’s birthday wish and grant it true ♥

Wow Jac! You’re homebirthing!!! I am so super saluting you for the courage to do this! Always wanted to try it but this time my Dr said no-no cause this will be a VBAC =(
I’ve read stories about it being done in Aussie, US, and UK, but haven’t heard one being done here. Where did you get the contact for the midwife?
I’m really excited to read how it all goes!
All the best to you, and safe delivery! <3 <3

Hey Mama Sher,
No need to salute me. It’s pretty exciting! Anyone can do it too once understanding the power of our body. God’s creation is not flawed and we are his final masterpiece, which is at perfection. Even better than men wor hehe
Pregnancy is not a sickness so there’s no need to go to the hospital. Unless of course, it’s a high risk pregnancy. Otherwise we are best stay away from medical interventions
There won’t be any midwife. Just the husband, me, Waihan and God. Homebirth in Malaysia is on the rise actually
How’s your pregnancy so far? Colour coded yet? Hehe.

wow mama this is a really big deal!!! way to go! homebirth is one thing, in a water is another thing altogether. I’m surprised that the doc actually support u! but then again, why do u have all the birth plan? as in well you know no vaccines and etc..

When I started preparing the birth plan, although I know I wanted an intervention free gentle birth, I didn’t know if I was up for a homebirth. But I have already asked for a waterbirth at Gleneagles. Unfortunately the hospital removed that facility despite the pool being available.
After attending the Hypnobirthing class and understand more, we are all set for a home birth. There’s no reason for Dr Tan not to support us anyway. I think my birth plan gave it away hehe
About the vaccines, do a quick research and you’ll understand why it is better not having than following the mass to have it
