I had my first puppy – or half, since I shared with my sister – when I was around six. She was a black mongrel which I can’t recall her name. The second was Sparkie, a white mongrel when I was ten. Unfortunately – for reasons best left unspoken – we didn’t have them for a very long period of time. At 13, we had Miko – a black Miniature Pinscher that wore four brown boots – and like my age, we had her for 13 years.

Can anyone not like dogs? I know I’m guilty at times, but I love dogs. I’ve been doing a lot of research lately since my heart was stolen by them two weeks back. And after finding out that my condo’s management allowed pets – which original stated NO in our S&P – I am now more determined to have her. But before I do, I am going to do my part and learn how to be a pack leader!

This is the cycle of a newborn puppy: they are born with an open nose for smell, that is how they know the scent of their mother and where to move for milk; after 15 days, they open their eyes to see; 21 days later, their ears are able to hear sounds and distinguish it.

The order of how a dog relate to its surrounding is established since birth: Nose, Eyes and Ears – they smell first, see second and hear last.

I’m still trying to decide what dog we should get. We, includes the husband, the sister – since she wants to share, this time 1/3 – and myself. If given the choice, the husband wants his Beagle, the sister – a Westie, and I – a Jack Russell. The best choice of the three would be Westie, because of its size and temperament. A friend knows a breeder for Toy Poodle, which seems more perfect but I am not too keen.

If you know any breeder for dogs – preferably miniature or toy – do let me know. I’ve never bought a dog from the pet shop before, and have every intention not to. We wanted to adopt one at SPCA – which we went on Saturday – but they are all too big for condo living

So now, it’s all about the fate *woof*

or 73 in doggy years if she’s still with us…

miko was born into a litter of six and was the only black beauty among her siblings. i remember her being only a palm size when we took her home. and poof! one day she got 5x that size, or maybe more due to over pampering *hehe* she was my best birthday present ever that year. and to share the same joy, i tied a ribbon on miko a year later and presented to my sister for her 18th birthday *hehehe*

miko’s parents were my uncle’s pet. her father was a black mini pincher and her mom, a slightly bigger brown version. coming from a mixed breed of the same kind, she was blessed with her father’s beautiful black coat and her mother’s bigger frame and pretty features.

since young this little mischief was full of animation, but a true scardycat. any loud sounds or the word “bath” will make her running for her dear life. oh how i missed her cheeky and dying for affection charms. if you don’t give her any attention within the day, she would come rubbing on your feet just like a cat!

*pix of baby miko goes here* <-- need to go find!!

happy birthday my dear baby girl. we loved you so much, even till this day and tomorrow *huggssss*

for the past few days, i’ve been spending some time to read my older entries on this blog – from when it was called unattendedv2 to the now, mellomouse. i must admit that it felt a bit awkward reading about my own life and recapturing the different events of the past two years. i wonder if that’s how it would be like, at the final second when pieces of my life flashes by (-__-|||)

during those quiet moments, i revisited the unwinding roads i’ve trampled, slapped myself for all the unwise decisions i’ve made, be inspired to complete the many unfinished businesses i started and wished i hugged my beloved dog one last time…

i dreamt of miko last night. it seemed so real as though she’s still with us. this pix was taken a year before she left us *weeps*

this little robo was my beloved among his three brothers; roby, messy and mini. when i brought them all home, i couldn’t decide on his name and started calling him number three. but very soon, he found a soft spot in my heart and earned the exclusive name of small baby. unlike his scardycat brothers, baby would cling to my fingers or sit quietly on my palm when i hold him *tugs* but his tiny life with us was short lived. baby got really sick one night and passed away in the clinic the next day – just seconds before the vet came. a month later, roby (my second favourite) followed baby while we were away in bali. so now messy and mini are our only robos left :’(

was it really a good idea time traveling to the past? maybe not from what i’ve just shared. but out of the many life stories not told – it also holds with it many sweet memories that helped wipe away the buckets i’ve shed

will you read them?

been having this horrible sore throat since a week back. how naive thinking that i could conquer it without visiting my phDmd. by the time i finally found time to go, it got worse. now i can hear my head humming as the drugs take over my sanity. i’ve become a druggie. on cough syrup and flu dose. pathetic. when is the weather gonna get better? the haze is sweeping this way again…

miko has been gone a week. do you think i would forget her? slowly i know, as the days goes by she would become a memory. i do miss her a lot honestly. even at this moment of my half conscious self. miko are you resting in peace? come play with me tonight in my dreams…
