My Sister got this for me last Christmas. If you asked me then, I would tell you that it is just another book. But ask me now and I would say that it is “the” must read prequel. What changed my mind?

I was never a fan of Sex and The City. Simply because before this, I never got around to follow the series to really understand what the show was all about besides its obvious dramedy. After watching its sequel earlier this year, the curiousity finally hit home — I wanted to know how Carrie met Big — and I downloaded all 6 seasons.

Within 3 months, I watched all the episodes — including the 3 Alternate Endings, 2 Farewells and Seminar — and I’m glad that I was never a fan earlier. It was definitely more fun watching one episode after another and becoming an overnight fan instantaneously. I have to admit that I am <del>heartbroken</del> sad that it is all over now that I am a fan *boo*

I did watch a few episodes when SATC debuted in 1998. Back then Mega Tv — Malaysia’s first pay tv — had HBO and oddly somehow escaped censorship. How else could a tv series with the word Sex in its title (and countless nude scenes) made its way into our home? How did they show SATC without butchering it silly? Especially the conversations. Do you remember?

I stopped reading at Chapter 7 when I started marathon-ing on the series. Now would be the perfect time to pick it up again and find out how Carrie became Carrie, The New Yorker

I believe that even if you are a stone, you Will be moved to tears by the beauty of God’s creations between Man and his Best Friend. And this is based on a true story *sniff*

You might want to know: Hachiko is an Akita Inu, a Japanese large breed dog and is one of the oldest ancient dog breeds *wahh* They are well known for their loyalty and intelligence.

The movie begins with the ultimate truth?
5yo Gigi gets pushed and called smelling like dog poo by a 6yo boy that she likes. Her mother consoles Gigi by telling her that the boy has a crush on her.

The older Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) then narrates “We are all programmed to believe that, if a guy acts like a total jerk, that means he likes you.”

But isn’t there some truth in it? I would second that as a universal default belief. Because I know it was mine!

My Verdict:

Although I’ve enjoyed the idea of the movie, I did find it too lengthy and anticipated for the ending. The movie is about 2 hours long.

Just like any other date movies, it will probably give you an ending that you’ll like

The Ultimate question
Would you watch the movie and read their book too?

I’m about 3 years late since its first release. I bet plenty of preteens out there still have these posters on their bedroom wall. Given two decades back, I might just too. But today, I am sadly no longer the target.

My Verdict:

Back in 2006, this was a big hit. It was Disney’s most successful Original Movie then.

So is it fair that I only give it a 2 star? I suspect it’s because I’m watching it 3 years late *lol*

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens looked awkward. Some of the songs were ok, but I preferred the duets. Although not all were originally sung by Efron but blended in with Andrew Seely’s voice.

My Verdict:

The acting improved and the songs were better. But I think the story could have been better.

My Verdict:

I enjoyed this the most! Maybe because it is more recent? There’s definitely a lot of improvements compared to the first and second.

The songs are way catchier and there are a lot more dance variations. The story also ends very well. I wouldn’t mind watching this again.

It’s like what they say, Third time is the Charm!

So how about the Forth?

Efron and Hudgens would not be starring though.

I must confess that before I watched any of the HSM sequels, I wasn’t very fond of Efron. I wonder why *hmmm* But now that I have, has my impression of him changed?…

I wasn’t a fan then, so would I be now?

Download in process…

Can they pull it off?

They always edit the good parts for the trailer. . .

I know I am being a brat. But I cannot help it. Not when they are turning one of my favourite Picoult into a future Rotten Tomatoes.

We all know the inevitable fate of books turned motion pictures — they Disappoint us firsthand readers. They lack the book’s original depth of details because so much is being edited off.

If I am the author, would I allow it? It sure feels like mutilating my Baby’s beautiful being! *shrieks again*

*Sigh*

I’m not sure if I’d want to watch it. Maybe next year? When it’s available on DVD and I can download it online. Hopefully by then, I’ve forgotten much of the book’s details and can enjoy it without noticing any missing limbs

This book played hide-and-seek with me for a whole year. I couldn’t find it at any bookstore, warehouse sales or even at KLIA. Finally my sister bought it for me in Indonesia, Dec last year. And it was worth the bounty hunting experience!

When you read the book’s synopsis, you’d expect it to be a tearjerker. It is emotional, heartbreaking and above all, Courageous.

If you’ve not read it yet, then you simply must.

If you are not a Jodi Picoult fan, then this will surely make you one! *3 thumbs up*

It may sound weird since it ought to be Ghosts of BF Past, but a little gender switch isn’t that hard to relate. And this header does hit a little close to home — for anyone who got struck by cupid’s arrow since four *ahem*

Only two days ago I was recalling my own experience to the husband. Definitely not a no-ending-string like Connor Mead’s — although I am not proud to admit — it is a string nonetheless. Does six-cm counts?

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past hits local cinemas next month. If the title sounds familiar, that’s because <strike>it ain’t Christmas yet but</strike> screenwriters Lucas and Moore thought it’d be nice to give us a warm up of a summer version.

As predicted in Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol — a past, present and future — we’d expect to see Connor’s (Matthew McConaughey) comedic struggle to win the love of Jenny Perotti (Jennifer Garner) in this romantic setup. And he definitely will *yawns* *LOL* That’s why I’m always game for the Happily-Ever-After, or more preferably known as Chick-Flicks by the boys *smug*

So will you watch it even though the anticipated ending?

The husband always say and I quote, “It’s not about the outcome, but the journey”. I hope he remembers these words when I bulldoze him to the cinema next month *evil laugh*

Btw, as for my less-than-10cm string — let’s just say it may not be long enough to trip me over, but it leads to a haunted closet no less *shivers*

I still remember it was at Borders in The Curve back in 2006 when I first saw this book. It has a picture of a yellow Lab on a red collar, or maybe the book title was in red? But the dog picture, I am positive. Anyhow, I came across this book a few good times over the next 1 year or so — each time Attracted, but never Bought.

When I read that Hollywood was making a movie out of it, I knew (finally!) I would be getting this book.

The husband is on leave today, and what better way to spend a rest day than watching a movie together cramped up in front of this screen. Ever since the husband has showed me where to download DVDrip of latest movies, we never went back to the cinema — I assure you, it is not because of the wallet.

And so after almost 3 years — since that book cover caught my eyes — I got to know who is Marley, the Grogans and Little Grey’s McSteamy as reporter Sebastian Tunney. All this in High Definition.

Some people read the book, and when that book makes it to the silver screen — they watch it, and then they criticize.

I am the Reverse — I watch the movie <strike>for free</strike>, buy the book and read the book. But if I’ve read the book — for example, The Kite Runner — I wouldn’t bother watching the movie. Because we all know that, screenplay is different from novel, and details are savagely butchered. So please stop complaining when Lord of the Rings movies are not like the book *bleh*

My ironic preference of watching the movie first is to get faces for the characters. Well actually… Not really, but it does help. When I read the book afterward, the beauty of its literature — parts that were butchered in the movie — can be fully appreciated with faces of good looking actors *winks* Am I making any sense?

Anyway, this book is officially in my book list of must-have during my next bargain book hunting. Hopefully I can find it again, just like how it has found me so many times before

My Uncle shared with me this movie yesterday. And I loved it! I’ve just finished watching it online and still have the tears to proof it. This movie about the relationship between Akari and her Golden Retriever is simply beautiful – both story and cinematography.

The promises we often make when deciding to get a dog is often forgotten when the years passes by. Watching this reminded me of my own forgotten promises to Miko *sobs* With little Scubby joining us soon, watching this movie could not have come at a better time. For those of us that’s getting, or already have a dog, let’s remember our 10 promises too!

1. Listen patiently to what I say

2. Trust me, I am always on your side

3. Play with me a lot

4. Don’t forget, that I have feelings, too

5. Let’s never fight

6. If I don’t obey you, I have a good reason

7. You have school, and friends, but I only have you

8. Stay my best friend, we must get along

9. I’ll only live about 10 years, make every moment count, every moment together

10. Never forget our life together. When my time comes, please be by my side
