Baby Einstein Lullabies.

I remember growing up during my toddler years listening to the arrangements of French pianist, Richard Clayderman as a bedtime lullaby. I continued listening to him until I was in my teens, where eventually boy bands took over *umph*

Even so, I have always been a fan of classical music and would never pass an opportunity to the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. I simply love the sound of the piano and violin *goes weak*

Now that I’m soon to be a Mother, I would also like to share with LBJ these beautiful classical compositions that I’ve enjoyed (and benefited) while growing up. And there is no better bonding between Mother & Baby than through the sound of music while he is still safely nestled in my womb ♥

Music & the Unborn Baby

Music provides a fantastic avenue to help develop our baby’s emotional, linguistic and motor skills in an enjoyable way.

Unborn babies begin to hear at about week 16 and have the ability to remember the music they hear.

A crying baby can be comforted by the sound of music that was played to him before birth — it seems to remind them of their safe time in the womb.

By the 6th month of gestation, not only can babies hear but also start to have a preference to the types of music they hear.

Ultrasound allows us to witness how babies react to music within their confined space. Studies has shown that Vivaldi and Mozart tend to be the preferred composers.

Since Monday morning, I’ve begun to put on classical music from the Baby Einstein collection while seated in front of the computer, and as ambiance throughout the day.

These are the 4 albums now playing on my iTunes, which I would recommend for baby and your listening pleasure

During our quiet time together at night, I would loop Brahms Lullaby — sung by Jewel and a rearrangement by Kenny G — on the player for a good half hour to an hour while rocking myself and LBJ in his nursery.

Without a doubt, Lullabies and Pöang equal pure pregnancy bliss. Thank you, Hubby! ♥

My Verdict:

I stumbled on Jewel’s Lullaby album while searching for Brahms Lullaby to play for LBJ. I was getting tired winding his musical mobile now hanging over his cot.

So it was a nice surprise to find Jewel singing to the classical tune so beautifully. Immediately I fell in love! You will too once you hear her

Brahms Lullaby is my favourite song in this album. Unfortunately, I’m not so fond of the other 14 tracks. Maybe it’ll grow on me after a few more loops? *hmm*
