♥ The eating hand shot ♥

Can you see her cute little nose there to the right? And her tiny clenched fist on the left? At this stage, LBT is about the size of a squash fruit. The video above of her rubbing eyes and “eating” hands is just too adorable as well *squeals in delight on the background*

LBT was happily showing off her motor skills in utero as Dr Tan slides the ultrasound transducer across my baby bump this morning. Occasionally covering her face but quickly moved along to show us more tricks

Whenever she moves these days, I can feel my entire bump shakes. At first I wasn’t too sure which is head, and which is tail. But after experiencing more hiccup episodes and today’s ultrasound, I am happy to share that LBT is now head down and has comfortably settled on the right side (Right Occiput Posterior) — just like her brother previously.

Our darling water dragon is definitely an active little swimmer in there. I’ll expect nothing less when she debuts in April ♥

It was a very exciting day and also a day for thanksgiving. Since our last check-up 6 weeks ago, we finally got to see our darling LBT again this Tuesday morning and this time with the much anticipated detailed ultrasound

I must admit that I did spend weeks worrying about LBT’s development. Having a glimpse of her and hearing Dr Tan announced that all is well — did he really say very pretty girl? — and complete is such a relief *amen*

Ever since I started feeling her movements 7 weeks ago, it has been a wonderful familiarity that I’ve missed since LBJ days. Feeling her strong kicks and wiggles everyday never fails to put me in awe. But seeing her sucking her thumb on the ultrasound plus feeling her move all together was definitely a prize. It literally warmed my heart and entire being inside out! ♥

It’s going to be another 6 weeks wait again before we get to see our darling girl again. By then I will be in my final trimester at 29 weeks. Suddenly time is passing too fast. Why?

It never dawned on me that these 40 weeks is a once in a lifetime journey between me and my baby. This is as close as we can ever be with each other — her growing inside me and sharing one breath — before I share her with the world on her birth day. As much as I look forward to hold her in my arms, that could wait because after that I could never hold her in my womb ever again… *sniff*

Yesterday finally came after weeks and weeks of anticipation. Nate has been calling LBT a baby girl girl for so long that we started to follow him too. Well except the husband because he didn’t want to have false expectation. Little did he know of his son’s true premonition

So how did Nate knows? Since no one taught him, I’d like to believe that Jesus told him instead *wink* How else does a 17mo toddler — 3 months ago — choose between little brother and little sister by answering that he wants baby girl girl. Does he even know the difference between brother, sister, girl and boy?

I am blessed and thankful for my “almost” complete family. By April 2012, we will be wholesomely complete with Daddy, Mommy, Natey, LBT and Scubby. Therefore, I hereby declare myself as “factory closed” for business. Seriously! *LOL*

I’m very happy to share our good news that we will be expecting a little Water Dragon next April 2012. I’ll soon be clocking into the 2nd trimester and I can’t wait! The past 8 weeks — and still is — had been a rollercoaster ride going down with no ups. Yet *fingers crossed*

We went for my 2nd antenal check up yesterday morning and I was very happy to see LBT kicking up a storm inside me. The ultrasound was so clear, I could see the little hands move vigorously as though excitedly waving to Mommy. It filled me with so much awe that I was floating on cloud nine ♥

This time we brought our camera with us and I got Hubby to record everything. I’ve probably watched the clip a dozen times and still feel fluttered from it. I can’t begin to explain the joyful feeling. Seeing my unborn child move inside me — separated only by my skin — from the outside is really so surreal. It is awe-some! Here’s a short snippet of the ultrasound

Our next appointment is in 6 weeks time. By then we will know if my Mommy instinct is correct and Natey’s request comes true. I started this pregnancy with the inkling of a boy but because of Natey’s constant chanting of “Baby Girl Girl” when I asked if he wanted a little brother or sister, I now suspect LBT could be a girl too. And Dr Tan agrees!

Whether it is a boy or a girl, it matters not but a healthy and complete baby. And I doubt Natey really knows the difference — just yet *hehe*

Just like our 1st antenatal check-up months ago, today we waited a good 2 hours for Dr Tan because he had 2 deliveries back to back earlier at noon. The poor man didn’t get to have his lunch — until it was 4pm — after he had cleared all his morning appointments. Then immediately he began the afternoon queue, with us being at number 6 that was supposed to be at 2.45pm.

Dr Tan’s usual greeting when we enter his room is always: “How’s everything?” But today it was a little different: “Why are you not delivering yet?” he greeted in a jester manner while looking at my records. Then added that LBJ “would” be greeting us on the 1st day of CNY aka Valentine’s Day. Remember this post? That’s less than 2 weeks from now! *sweats*

Not too big, Not too small & in a Good Position

Once again, I wondered if I am readied. I am actually fearful today. Only last night I dreamed that my water broke and my knees went weak. My 2nd respond was asking for the date — if not mistaken, someone told me that it was February 27th. What happened after that, I cannot remember

Dr Tan has approved my Birth Plan! A copy has been submitted to the Labour Room, and one for me to bring along in my Hospital Bag just in case. I’ve checked with one of the midwives, and she said it is ok to bring along a laptop into the Delivery Suite. Insane as it may appears, I hope blogging would be a good distraction for the pain *denial?*

Starting from tomorrow, I shall begin the Fetal Movement Charting to keep track of LBJ’s wellbeing. Although I feel him moving a lot now — and hiccups immensely — I should not take it for granted. I need to keep a record of 10 movements any time between 12 hours and everything is fine. Even a 9 is not!

So Little Benjac, here’s your Golden Ticket to kick Mommy more ok

How time flies! Yesterday was already our 6th antenatal check-up with Dr Tan Lay Seng at Gleneagles. I always enjoy our appointments with him, even though we need to wait an hour or sometimes more just to see him each time

Dr Tan always has a smiley face on. But yesterday he was in a particularly good mood too. We got to enjoy that good mood of his by seeing LBJ a little while longer on the ultrasound. And we caught LBJ on screen sucking his thumb! Here’s a good side profile of our Little Prince ♥

If only the thought of recording it on DVD crossed my mind then — I was totally lost in time! — else we would have had it immortalised! Now all I can rely on is my memory of that heartwarming experience of seeing LBJ moving his lips up and down sucking his tiny thumb *moved to tears*

I’ve discussed my birth plan with Dr Tan and he has given the green light for all that’s on my draft. After speaking with him about some of my concerns, he has given me more assurance to change what I’ve previously decided on — though not the Epidural part *bleh*

The first time we saw LBJ on the ultrasound screen, he was a tiny seed measuring at 5mm. Since the last antenatal check-up, he has already outgrown the screen. So we can only guess that he is about 38cm to date ♥

Babies are born with 300-350 bones!

I’m very happy that LBJ is now already in the head down position. That means the possibility of breech is lessen and I’ll very likely to have a normal delivery *fingers crossed*

My due date has now moved to 6th March 2010. That’s another 2 days backslide, making it a total 5 days later from its initial 1st March 2010. But then again, that’s just an estimation. LBJ could very well decide to stay in his home sweet home until 42 weeks!

An update from last month’s weight watch. I assure you that I am definitely not dieting! I’ve gained 3kg – previously 5kg – making it a round total of a 10kg increase since my pre pregnancy days. I ought to be gaining another 6-8kg (or more) until delivery. Will I ever go back to forty-eight? *pouts*

With my bigger frame and growing bump — measuring 97cm all around! — sleeping has gotten more challenging and my feet feels like two puffy buns with burning heels at every step. Hopefully my new roomier sandals will help!

Do I still wish LBJ will stay within a little bit longer? I might begin to have my doubts

This morning we went for our 3rd antenatal check-up with Dr Tan Lay Seng at Gleneagles. I always enjoy our sessions with him. He has this delightful persona that makes seeing him each time a pleasure. But that’s also because seeing him means seeing him *points below**heart*

Dr Tan did a detailed scan today. Thankfully all is well and complete! Ten little toes and fingers, healthy heart, brain development, kidney and liver. We even saw his baby face *aww* Although it is merely a 2D scan — incomparable to a clearer 4D — we were already filled with awe to this little life we’ve created. What more if we were to hold him in our arms next March!

My due date has made a slight backslide to the 4th from its initial 1st March 2010. Dr Tan said it doesn’t really matter since we can never predict exactly when the baby decides to come into this world. We could only estimate at 40 weeks. I just hope LBJ stays put until after Chinese New Year. I wouldn’t want him to be delivered by someone else after going through the hassle of finding us a good ObGyn.

Besides the good news of the scans, I am dampened by my ballooning weight. I’ve gained 5kg since my last check-up and that is way too much for a month at my stage. I ought to be only gaining at about 2kg — being pregnant doesn’t mean you literally eat for two — so 5kg is definitely off the scale! A healthy pregnancy ideally gains about 12kg, and I’m already 8kg now *pouts*

What’s adding up are all the milk I’ve been drinking throughout the night until morning to curb my gastric. The solution Dr Tan gave was: Hard Boiled Eggs. Have 10 and it’s fine. Protein stays longer in the stomach and keeps me full. So I’m going to try this, but definitely not TEN! And cutting down on carbs, snack on fruits and increase vege portions.

My next visit is December 11th. Hopefully my weight gain would be healthier by then *fingers crossed*

Since the last time we saw him a month ago
Little Benjac has now doubled in size and weighs 303g ♥

And Yes, you read “HIM” right
Our Little Benjac is Benedict Tan Junior!

During yesterday’s monthly check up, Dr Tan was happy to inform us that I would be due to deliver on 1st March 2010, or anytime between 3 weeks before that. I was hoping for March 3rd, so we’ll have a double threes for Baby and a double fours (April 4th) for Mommy. But I have a feeling that he will come sooner than later — if he has his Mommy’s restlessness genes *blek*

For the past month, on and off we’ve been thinking of baby name for boys. Since early in the pregnancy, I’ve been suspicious that we are having a boy, but didn’t really put in much thoughts. Now that we are 100% certain, it’s time to have fun picking one out.

Deciding on the suitable name would not be easy though. There are so many factors to be considered: Spelling, Pronunciation, Meaning — in all three languages and even dialects! I’m hoping to avoid any possible name teasing in the future. We’ve all been there, haven’t we? For some, even till this day *hehe*

Until we’ve confirmed on a name, I shall call our precious pea “LBJ”, short for Little Benjac Jr. I hope that didn’t give you any funny ideas for a tease

How do you describe a Mother’s feeling
when she sees the baby in her womb takes form of a Baby?

And to know if he is a Boy, or if she is a Girl?

Just like how the Mastercard trademarked theirs, the feeling is indeed Priceless. And to that, I say with conviction

I was moved beyond words yesterday afternoon, when I saw the tiny us resembling a baby now through the ultrasound scan. The tiny little feet moving in the screen, and Dr Tan giving us a 70% heads up of the genitalia.

My maternal instinct could be right! But let’s wait till our next scan on 9 October to confirm ya *wink*

I was even happier when Dr Tan said my morning sickness days are looming to its end. “Give it another week,” he happily announced. But I dare not celebrate just yet, just in case mine doesn’t fall into majority. I have been having more vomiting spells the past week *sobs*

Ok let’s not be dampen by That awful feeling, and continue to be at awed staring at the tiny life above that’s working overtime to take form of our Little Benjac!! ♥ heart ♥
