the melodramatic mouse is now mellomom

29 Mar 2009I am a little embarrassed, but is it ever too old to be star*struck?
A month ago when I started watching Boys Before Flowers, I took favour for the character Yoon JiHoo — played by Kim Hyun Joong of Korean boyband, SS501. If you watched Meteor Garden or Hana Yori Dango, you would be familiar with JiHoo as the character of Hua Ze Lei and Rui Hanazawa.
For all of the drama series that I faithfully follow, I like to dig a little about the actors and actresses that played their parts so well in the roles scripted for them. And so it was no difference when it came to the Flower boy that played YJH.
Months before the casting of BBF, Hyun Joong appeared alongside Hwangbo as a make believe newlywed in South Korea’s reality show called We Got Married. If you haven’t heard or watched it yet, I give it 3 thumbs up!
Why? Because if Hyun Joong haven’t charmed you yet with his character in BBF, he definitely will in this reality show. I must admit that if this was during my high school days, I would have his poster plastered on my wall *school girl giggles*
Here’s a part of episode 26 that literally warmed my heart
If you were to follow the episodes where Hyun Joong and Hwangbo — also known as Lettuce Couple in the show — are featured in the variety show, surely you will fall in love not only for this Kid Groom, but also for his older bride.
I have 3 more episodes of BBF left. On Monday, KBS2 will air the finale and by Tuesday, the English subbed version will be available online. As promised for my Lent offering, I will only watch the remaining 3 episodes after Easter.
Although I have yet to watch them, I am already sad because it will not the happy ending that I prefer. As scripted for Meteor Garden and Hana Yori Dango, the ending would be similar — Geum JanDi and Goo JunPyo would finally be together *sulk* Guess it’s time to find another Korean drama to obsess over…
Here’s episode 26 in full if you have the time to watch

I totally love him, he’s so cute. I watched him first on BBF and fall for him and then on the WGM show ahhh totally in love. I didn’t watch the HYD anime or the other adaptations so I kinda hoped he would stayed with Jan Di, bummer, though I like the show but Jun Pyo wasn’t exactly prince charming so I always preferred Ji Hoo. Jajaj since I finished watching BBF then he’s the wallpaper on my pc desktop.
