When was the last time you entered your personal particulars — DOB, NRIC, home address, mobile number, etc — for an online contest? With the organisation allegedly promising the safe keeping of your details. You read their Privacy Terms, and believed them. Especially an established one, be it international or local bred.

But now you find your info floating and freely available to Everyone on the World Wide Web! And I’ve got proof *fumes*

I would love to write more here and get them into deep sh*t. But given the benefit of doubt, I will wait for a respond in 3 days. If none is provided, I will and you will want them in a deep pool of dung.

Because this involves us Nuffnangers — especially if you joined “that” contest too! *boils*

OMG! I just read this in their Terms & Conditions. Any lawyers out there?

By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees to release and hold X COMPANY and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, parent companies affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any Prize, or travel to or from any Prize-related activity, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or INVASION OF PRIVACY.

Does this mean, it is OK to disclose our info on search engines? *Help!*
